Review 5/21/2010

I am a Travel Nurse and was working at North Florida Regional Hospital in Gainesville, FL on contract. I needed to renew my BLS and ACLS and was told by the hospital educators that they did not do classes but Critical Care Concepts did and to sign up with them. After several attempt of calling for a class and put in the Que and 15 minute wait intervals and two weeks I finally registered for a class. This should have been my first clue about the way this company does business. I took the classes-NO cards are issued on site as is the usual procedure with an American Heart approved class-this should have been the 2nd clue. I was assured with a self filled out certificate to be submitted to hospital and my staffing agency for proof I attended. I waited the allotted 30 days and made another call-I was told my cards would be electronically sent to me and the originals would be mailed out that day. April 26th-um 3rd clue-businesses just lie. I called again May 3rd and told again the cards are in the mail-um I am in Florida and cards are not in mail per spouse in Arkansas. My agency calls and they reassure them the cards are being sent out. Clue "being sent out"-so previously never happened. I finally did receive an electronic copy after clarifying email for 3rd time. They had my email entered incorrectly is what I was told. I do not understand how this happened since I clearly printed in on their sign in sheet on March 25th, 2010. I am today May 21, 2010 still trying to get through the phone Que to once again request my Cards. They charged me money to take a class and I did and they agreed to issue cards in American Hearts name. Perhaps a letter to American Heart and the Hospital Chairman. Clearly the Hospital Educator is the one that makes the connection with this company and it is the worst time of obtaining accreditation in my 22 years as a nurse I have ever been through. Save yourself and your company a lot of wasted man hours and aggravation. I will never do business with this company again and clearly it is not over for me yet.
