Review 12/12/2010

I am a physician. Many times finding a BLS/ACLS course is difficult due to your schedule. I found Critical Concepts online, they had convenient class times.
In 2008 I signed up for BLS/ACLS through Critical Concepts. The two day course went smoothly and I received my certification cards that day. In no way did I think there was anything out of the ordinary going on.
Fast forward to 2010. I am planning to leave FL for a new job and want to update my certification while I have time off. I received a phone call from this company in June and July reminding me of my September expiration date.
I enrolled online but the name of the company was changed to ALL MEDICAL TRAINING. I once again thought maybe ownership had changed. Everything else was the same including the training site.
On September 16th I went to the center. There were only 2 people in the course. The other person was a new nurse. I thought it odd they didn't want to see me do my chest compression or other hands on things they usually do. The instructor was a certified EMT that works out in the Coral Springs, FL area (I so wish I had recorded a name). We completed the course in one day instead of the two. Took the required test and said our cards would be mailed. They even had the nerve to give us a sheet to claim CME.
Well after I never received a card in the mail and I was due to move for my new job, I decided to make phone calls. Every telephone number I could find was disconnected. Every web page was Taken down. The worse part is someone called my home in early October to find out if I wanted to register since my certification had expired.
I called the AHA in Dallas and they said they had not been a training center since March 2010. My credit card company was able to refund me. It galls me that they have my information and that I wasted my time and will have to waste precious hours again to recertify.
The course director, the instructor are FL licensed as RNS, EMT's and paramedics. I feel they should be reprimanded for this fraud. I know that if I as a physician set up the same type of operation, my licence would be taken away. The Florida Dept of Health said they have nothing to do. I still plan on filing a complaint, as I did with the FL Attorney General and the Broward division of consumer Services.
I HOPE THIS REVIEW HELPS SOMEONE!
